Speech & Debate Team
Welcome to the University of Florida Speech and Debate Team's web page.The University of Florida Speech and Debate team competes at national, state, and regional tournaments in Policy Debate and eleven Individual Events categories: Extemporaneous, Impromptu, Persuasuive, Informative, After Dinner Speaking, Communication Analysis, Duo, Prose, Poetry, Dramatic, and Program of Oral Interpretation.
Our site features a compilation of information about the team, as well as some basic resources for forenscis competitors. Check out the site to learn about our team history, our travel schedule, and current members. Team meetings are every Tuesday night in Rolfs Hall at 6:15 p.m.
Message From the President
Welcome to the UF Speech and Debate Team Website! I encourage you to look around and get a feel for what the team does and explore the different events we compete in to see if one or even a few interest you. We travel around the country for our competitions, from Berkeley, California to Harvard University. The Speech and Debate Team not only helps provide you with crucial communication skills to move ahead in any profession but also will become a core group of friends while here at UF. If you have any questions about the team please feel free to contact me.

Team Funding & Support
The UF Speech and Debate Team is funded by the University of Florida Student Government. The UF Student Government has shown a strong commitment to student organizations, like Speech and Debate, providing 100% of our travel funding.
Additionally, the William and Grace Dial Center for Written and Oral Communication provides numerous resources to the team. The Center pays the salary of the Director of Forensics, as well as the graduate assistant coaches, and provides office space, telephones, computers, and a copy machine.
